Your key to unlocking direct bookings

Alignment Score is Hotel Trader’s proprietary metric that shows how easily a Travel Buyer can book a Hotel directly, and how closely what you intend to sell matches what buyers can actually buy. It exists to align Hotels’ desire for more direct revenue with Travel Buyers’ need for clean, accurate, reliable rates from the source.

It measures how “direct‑ready” a relationship is: a low Alignment Score means Travel Buyers cannot reliably book the Hotel directly, while a high score means they can book with confidence.

A higher score brings better visibility and more direct revenue opportunities, because Hotels with strong Alignment Scores are prioritized by Travel Buyers and capture more direct bookings.

How we calculate the Alignment Score

Every 48 hours, the platform scans the broader Hospitality ecosystem to ensure fairness, accuracy, and direct access. Here’s what happens behind the scenes:

  1. Inventory Accuracy
Verifies that the Hotel’s inventory and rate are displayed correctly across Travel Buyer platforms.

  2. Rate Strategy Alignment
Checks that rates and pricing strategies are consistent across channels, maintaining a level playing field.

  3. Score Calculation
The score drops when better rates appear elsewhere and rises when all rates are aligned, giving Travel Buyers confidence to book direct.

This makes Alignment Score a foundation of trust between Hotels and Travel Buyers… and trust drives conversion.

How to improve your Alignment Score

If your Score is low, we’re here to help.

Whether it’s a promotional rate not mirrored on The Exchange, a rate leak appearing in an unintended channel or a misalignment in prices or availability, your Alignment Score will reflect that. Hotel Trader’s Alignment data helps pinpoint the issue and Hotel Trader’s team can help investigate, identify the root cause, and help you resolve issues quickly.

The result? A stronger Alignment Score and more direct revenue.

Why it matters

In simple terms, the higher your Alignment Score, the higher your chances of capturing direct bookings – alignment builds confidence, confidence drives conversion, and conversion increases revenue.
